Consider approving Resolution No. 2018-120 reappointing Dr. Paul Lonquist and appointing Cristal Retana to serve as the City of Farmers Branch appointees to the Metrocrest Hospital Authority Board of Directors; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Metrocrest Hospital Authority is governed by a Board of Directors (Board) consisting of ten (10) members. The Board elects the members for Places 5, 6, 7, and 8 and the City Council of the City of Farmers Branch confirms the appointments by passage of a resolution. Below is a list of current and proposed appointments. The City Council will review Place 6, to reappoint Dr. Paul Lonquist, and Place 8, to make a new appointment of Cristal Retana to the Board.

Place 5 - Craig Greenway (Term Expires 12/1/19)
*Place 6 - Dr. Paul Lonquist (Term Expires 12/1/18)
Place 7 - Vacant (Term Expires 12/1/19)
*Place 8 - Vacant (Term Expires 12/1/18) New applicant Cristal Retana is seeking appointment.
DISCUSSION:
The term for Board of Director Place 6 and Place 8 is expiring December 1, 2018. Dr. Paul Lonquist who currently serves in Place 6 wishes to serve another term. Applicant Cristal Retana is seeking a new appointment to Place 8. Board Members serve two-year terms with no term limits.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends City Council approve Resolution No. 2018-120 reappointing Dr. Paul Lonquist to Place 6 and Cristal Retana to Place 8, to serve the City of Farmers Branch as appointees to the Metrocrest Hospital Authority Board of Directors for a term ending December 1, 2020.
