BACKGROUND:
On November 6, 2018, staff will make a presentation (see attachment) regarding proposed Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO) amendments as it relates to residential building setbacks and building heights. The attached presentation identifies items in which staff is seeking direction from City Council.
This topic was presented to City Council on September 11, 2018 in the form of a zoning case consistent with prior direction received from City Council in December 2017 (see attachment). At their meeting on September 11, 2018, City Council expressed concern as to whether or not the setbacks should be further reduced, and whether building heights should be increased. Therefore, City Council continued the public hearing indefinitely to allow staff to bring back this topic in a study session format for further direction.
Staff seeks direction from City Council regarding potential amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance as it relates to residential siting/dimensional standards.
