Title

Consider approving Resolution No. 2018-114 authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the State of Texas for the placement of an entryway monument sign; and take appropriate action.

Body

BACKGROUND:

One of the strategic initiatives for FY’19 is to install nine blade entryway monument signs across the City of Farmers Branch. Three of the signs will require the City to acquire the necessary rights of way permissions. Resolution No. 2018-114 will allow the City of Farmers Branch to acquire permission to install an entryway sign in the State of Texas’ rights of way at the I-35N exit ramp to Valley View Lane. The State of Texas contract requires a local resolution or ordinance.

DISCUSSION:

Resolution No. 2018-114 allows the City Manager to enter into a contract with the State of Texas. The contract is in draft form and attached as a point of reference. Please note that the contract does not have a financial component and is purely about accessing the State’s rights of way for the sign.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Budgeted Financial Impact: $268,800 in Fixed Assets for the entire project. This contract does not have any financial impact and is part of the process that leads to the overall financial impact.

RECOMMENDATION:

Administration recommends approving Resolution No. 2018-114 as presented.
