Discussion regarding 2019 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting dates.

BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this item is to discuss the proposed 2019 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting dates. The Commission normally meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month; however, there are instances in which the dates must be adjusted to account for City Council’s meeting schedule, holidays, and Commissioners’ schedules. Per the City’s Code of Ordinances, the Commission shall have at least one regular meeting in each month.
The proposed calendar follows the Commission’s normal schedule with the following exceptions:
• May - proposing the first and third Mondays (May 6 and 20, 2019) to allow for two meetings within the month, and due to the Memorial Day holiday and Tuesday May 28, 2019 being unavailable (conflicts with Zoning Board of Adjustment);
• July - proposing one meeting to accommodate for personal summer holiday travels;
• August - proposing Monday August 5, 2019 due to Council meetings scheduled for August 12-15, 2019; and
• November and December - proposing one meeting each month due to holiday schedules, and the third Monday of the month (November 18, 2019 and December 16, 2019) to not conflict with Council meeting weeks.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Planning and Zoning Commission provide direction related to their 2019 meeting dates.
