Receive an update on the Farmers Branch Power Switch

BACKGROUND:
In July 2018, the City of Farmers Branch became one of the first cities in the DFW area (Richland Hills is the only other City in DFW) to participate in the Texas Power Switch. Branding as the Farmers Branch Power Switch, Farmers Branch became the example City for iChoosr with our robust communication efforts, City participation, and resident involvement. The next iteration of the Farmers Branch Power Switch opens for registration on November 26th and we look forward to continuing this conversation with the residents of Farmers Branch.
DISCUSSION:
This program has been very well received by residents and staff that participated in the program. The City Council will have the opportunity to review the results from the program, talk to staff that administer the program on behalf of the City, discuss the program with iChoosr’s representative, and speak to residents and staff about participating in the Farmers Branch Power Switch.
RESIDENT FISCAL IMPACT:
Average savings of $497 per switch
Total savings of $155,064
