Receive a report on the proposed changes to the smoking ordinance

BACKGROUND:
During the November 27, 2018 Study Session, City Council received a report on the adverse impacts of smoking, second hand smoke, and vaping. Staff presented the requirements of the City of Dallas smoking ordinance as well those of some neighboring cities. On the Consent Agenda is an amended ordinance prohibiting smoking in City Parks. The presentation compares the current ordinance restrictions to the proposed ordinance on the Consent Agenda and offers other potential changes for Council’s consideration. City staff will take any comments or proposed changes from City Council regarding the ordinance amendment.
