Receive an update regarding the Planning and Zoning Commission tri-annual update presentation to City Council on January 22, 2019.

BACKGROUND:
At the City Council study session meeting on January 22, 2019, Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman David Moore presented the Commission’s tri-annual update presentation. Overall the presentation was well received by the Council.
City Council concurred with the items presented as part of the Commission’s 2018-19 work plan (see attachment) which aligns with Council’s strategic initiatives and critical business outcomes for FY2018-19.
Other items discussed included:
• Opportunities for increased landscaping along highway corridors and TxDOT’s Green Ribbon Program; and
• Stormwater run-off concerns associated with development particularly on the city’s east side, and if zoning can assist with improving stormwater run-off conditions.
ACTIONS:
No action required at this time.
