Body
At the October 23, 2018 Historical Preservation and Restoration Board meeting, the Board voted unanimously to recognize both The Rotary Club of Carrollton-Farmers Branch, and The Civic League with the "Witness to History" award. This award was created to recognize long time Farmers Branch residents and/or organizations that have contributed to the City of Farmers Branch in an outstanding manner.
The Rotary Club of Carrollton-Farmers Branch has been active since 1960. The Club's motto is "Service Above Self." This motto can be seen in action as the club provides scholarships, and mentors C-FBISD students. The Rotary Club of Carrollton-Farmers Branch has also contributed thousands of dollars to local non-profits over the years. Recent service projects include assisting in building playgrounds and planting trees.
The Civic League Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to community service. Founded in 1963, the all-volunteer group provides grants to educational, charitable, and cultural
projects. College scholarships have helped hundreds of local students achieve their educational goals.
The Rotary Club of Carrollton-Farmers Branch and The Civic League are two organizations that make Farmers Branch an outstanding City in the way of their strong and on-going support!
