BACKGROUND:
On May 15, 2018, the City Council approved the submission of this project to Dallas County for approval and funding under the Community Development Block Grant program, a federal program administered through Dallas County. The scope of work includes the replacement of the water main, services, valves, and fire hydrants, as well as sanitary sewer mains, service lines, and manholes.
DISCUSSION:
On March 12, 2019, eleven (11) bids were received and opened for the replacement of the water and sanitary sewer lines along Havenhurst Street between Bee Street and Dennis Lane, with all bids meeting specifications. The low bid was received from Aushill Construction LLC in the amount of $411,645. The contract time is sixty (60) calendar days. Aushill Construction LLC has submitted adequate qualifications and references.
This item is consistent with City's Guiding Principle relative to providing functional, sustainable, and well-maintained infrastructure, facilities and equipment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
1. Budgeted Financial Impact (2018-2019 Capital Improvement Program, Non-bond Fund, $230,212). The C.I.P.Non-bond Fund is a reimbursement from Dallas County under the CDBG Program. The remaining $181,433 will be funded from the Non-Bond Utility Fund.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approving Resolution No. 2019-031 authorizing a contract with Aushill Construction LLC for the replacement of the water and sanitary sewer lines along Havenhurst Street between Bee Street and Dennis Lane in the amount of $411,645.
