Consider appointing an Advisory Committee Representative and Alternate Representative to the Trinity River Authority’s Central Wastewater Treatment System; and take appropriate action

BACKGROUND:
This is an annual appointment of a governing officer to be a voting member of the Advisory Committee for Trinity River Authority’s Central Wastewater Treatment System. Members serve a one-year term in accordance with the Central Regional Wastewater System Bylaws.
DISCUSSION:
Typically, the City appoints a City Council member to serve as the contracting party representative and a staff member is appointed as the alternate. In 2018, Mayor Pro Tem John Norwood served as representative and Utilities Superintendent Craig Hahn served as the alternate representative to the Trinity River Authority’s Central Wastewater Treatment System. Mayor Pro Tem Norwood and Mr. Hahn have requested to serve another term.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends the City Council reappoint Mayor Pro Tem Norwood to serve as Representative to the Trinity River Authority’s Central Wastewater Treatment System and reappoint Craig Hahn as alternate member.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to reappointing Mayor Pro Tem Norwood as Representative; and Craig Hahn, as Alternate Representative to the Trinity River Authority’s Central Regional Wastewater System.
2. I move to appoint ______________ as Representative, and Craig Hahn as Alternate Representative.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
