Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3568 amending Section 22-51 and Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances to establish a fee for third-party expedited inspection of new single family homes; and take appropriate action

BACKGROUND:
With the increasing amount of single-family detached housing being erected on the west side, the inspections team is experiencing a backlog of projects. The primary developer for the west approached the City regarding an expedited means in which the applicant could pay a fee for a third party inspection. The City is in agreement with this process and in order to establish such, Ordinance No. 3568 will need to be amended.
DISCUSSION:
The proposed Ordinance would amend Appendix A, Fee Schedule to reflect the following language: Chapter 22 - Buildings and Building Regulations, Section 22-51 (b), Expedited Third Party Residential Inspection fee for new single family homes, amount is City current contract rate or fee with third-party provider.

City Administration recommends the City Council approve Ordinance No. 3568, as presented.
