For over 25 years, Chief Hale has been a major force behind the Farmers Branch Police Department.  He began working at City of Farmers Branch in 1994 as a patrolman, promoted in 1998 to Corporal and in 2000 promoted to Police Sergeant.  In 2004, he became the Deputy Chief of Support Services and in 2007 promoted to Deputy Chief of Patrol Operations.  In 2016, Chief Hale was named Police Chief for the City of Farmers Branch.

Chief Hale has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology/Psychology from Texas A&M and is a Certified Master Peace Officer for the State of Texas and a State Licensed Police Instructor.  Over the years, Chief Hale has received numerous awards such as Police Officer of the Year in 1998, and the Meritorious Conduct Award and Chiefs Award for training to name a few.

Chief serves on the Carrollton Farmers Branch Rotary Club as President Elect, and serves on the North Central Texas Governments Training Advisory Board.  He also serves as Chair of the International Association of Chief of Police, the Texas Police Chiefs Association and the North Texas Police Chiefs Association.
