Body
BACKGROUND:
The Metrocrest Hospital Authority is wanting to donate $18,000 to help sponsor a regional delivery of an Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training program (ALERRT). The Active Attack Integrated Response train-the-trainer course (AAIR) will allow our regional response partners to receive standardize training on how to respond to an active shooter event. The donation will help reduce the cost of sending up to 30 Police, Fire and Dispatch training personnel from NTECC and the Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, and Farmers Branch Police & Fire Departments. On acceptance of the donation, the Carrollton Police Department will coordinate with the ALERRT/Texas State University on setting class dates and developing a student class roster. As this is a train-the-trainer class, the ALERRT training will then be delivered to all local first responders.
