Elect Mayor Pro Tem and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem; and take appropriate action

BACKGROUND:
Annually, per Section 2.05 of the City’s Charter, the City Council shall elect from the Council Members a Mayor Pro Tem and a Deputy Mayor Pro Tem who will perform the duties of Mayor in case of the absence or disability of the Mayor.
The Mayor Pro Tem and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem maintain voting rights on matters coming before the City Council when acting as Mayor.
DISCUSSION:
This item has been placed on the agenda to give City Council Members the opportunity to elect a Mayor Pro Tem and a Deputy Mayor Pro Tem for the year 2019.
RECOMMENDATION:
A motion should be made to nominate a Mayor Pro Tem and a Deputy Mayor Pro Tem.
ACTIONS:
1) Motion to nominate and elect a Mayor Pro Tem and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem.
