Receive a report regarding solar energy feasibility for City facilities

BACKGROUND:

The City of Farmers Branch has identified sustainability as an important focus area for the future of Farmers Branch. Aligning to this strategic direction, we started the process for assessing the potential financial and marketing benefits of installing solar energy infrastructure at City facilities and on City property.  Staff developed a Request for Qualifications for a solar energy feasibility study and interviews have been conducted.  Staff will provide an update on the status of the project and information gleaned to date.

 

DISCUSSION:

Council will have the opportunity to discuss the direction this initiative is taking and provide feedback to staff on the outcomes, if any, that Council would like to see.
