Body

BACKGROUND:

Today, we are recognizing the accomplishments of long-time City employee, Jeff Harting, who will officially retire from the City of Farmers Branch on July 2, 2019.

Jeff was hired by the City of Farmers Branch on April 25, 1985 as a Parks Foreman II, for the Parks & Recreation Department.  Through a service above self-mentality, and a relentless drive to improve the quality of life for all residents in Farmers Branch, Jeff quickly rose through the ranks to his current position as Director of Parks & Recreation.

Throughout his career, Jeff has played a key role in building The Branch Connection, Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center, the Margaret Young Natatorium & Frog Pond, Historical Park, upgrades to median landscaping, street beautification projects, as well as numerous park improvement projects.  As a result of Jeff’s efforts, our parks and facilities have been nationally recognized and received several awards and accolades.

As Jeff prepares for retirement, he leaves behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, passion for service, and servant leadership.  This city is a better place to live, work and play because he was here and we are all grateful for his contributions.  Please welcome me in recognizing and congratulating a truly unique individual.
