Discuss future Planning and Zoning Commission retreat.

BACKGROUND:
At the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on June 24, 2019, the Commission requested to begin planning for a fall retreat. In order to assist staff with preparing for the retreat, staff seeks feedback from the Commission regarding the following items:
• Length of retreat (full day versus half day);
• Day of week (weekday versus Saturday; if it is a weekday event then preferred weekdays);
• Topics that may be of interest; and
• Possible tour locations (within DFW area).
To assist the Commission with providing potential retreat content feedback, staff has identified the following topics below that may be of interest to the Commission:
• Tour of projects under construction within Farmers Branch;
• Tour of dense infill housing developments occurring within single-family neighborhoods (i.e. Uptown, Belmont Park/Old East Dallas area (south of Henderson Avenue);
• Tour of area mixed-use developments (i.e. Uptown, Legacy West/Legacy Town Center, Eastside (Richardson), Downtown Garland, Downtown Plano); and/or
• Tour of highway corridors in which recent corridor studies have been completed.
Additionally, the Commission may have topics of interest other than what has been identified above.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Planning and Zoning Commission provide feedback related to the upcoming retreat content and scheduling.
