Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3585 amending Ordinance No. 1430, as amended, relative to the procedures for adopting Plats repealing Sections 6, amending Sections 7 & 8 and adding Sections 8A, 8B, and 8C to the Subdivision Ordinance; and take appropriate action

BACKGROUND:
City Council request that in the interest of platting affected areas of parcels within the City of Farmers Branch that the City Council approval process be amended to allow Plat approvals to be made at the Planning and Zoning Commission level. The current Subdivision Ordinance requires that the Planning and Zoning Commission make recommendation for approval of all Plats prior to being presented to City Council for final approval. Amending Sections 6, 7 and 8 of the Subdivision Ordinance would expedite the platting process currently in place.
DISCUSSION:
City Attorney recommends Section 6, of Ordinance No. 1430, be amended by repealing and deleting it in its entirety, Section 7 and 8 to be amended in their entirety and add Sections 8A, "Minor Plats"; 8B, "Amending Plats"; and 8C, "Administrative Approval of Certain Amending Plats, Minor Plats, and Replats" ; 8D "Application Fees for Replats, Minor Plats, and Amended Plats" as per attached Ordinance No. 3585.

RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends adopting Ordinance No. 3585 amending Ordinance No. 1430, relative to the procedures for adopting Preliminary Plats, Final Plats; Replats, Minor Plats, and Amending Plats.
