BACKGROUND:
TXDOT is acquiring parcels along I-35 service roads for their expansion project. They identified a linear tract of land owned by the city along the east service road adjacent to the StarCenter. The 4,920sf of land contains grass and no improvements. The fair market value is $97,380, which is also their offer price.
DISCUSSION:
Staff recommends selling the parcel to TXDOT. Eminent domain proceedings will be initiated by TXDOT if the City does not agree to the offer.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended motion by City Administration to approve Resolution No.2019-124 authorizing the sale of a 4920± square foot tract of land out of the Thomas Keenan Survey, Abstract No. 733, generally located at 12700 N. Stemmons, to the State of Texas.
