Discuss the city’s platting processes.

BACKGROUND:
Due to the City Council approving an amendment to the Subdivision Ordinance delegating platting approval authority to the Planning and Zoning Commission and staff (adopted September 3, 2019), a review of the city’s platting processes is appropriate. The purpose of this agenda item is to discuss the city’s platting processes including but not limited to the items listed below:
• Purpose of plats;
• When does platting occur in the city’s development process;
• Types of plats;
• Approval authority including actions required as a result of recently adopted changes to state law due to HB 3167; and
• Staff’s role in the platting process, including the departments who review the plats.
Staff will present a general overview of the platting processes and be available to answer any questions related to this item.
