Title

Consider Board and Commission appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission; and take appropriate action

Body

BACKGROUND:

With the resignation of Planning and Zoning Commissioner Jared Sullivan, a vacancy has occurred for Place 1, with a term expiring June 30, 2022.  As vacancies occur, City Council may appoint members to fill any open positions(s) on a Board or Commission.

City Ordinance No. 3563 states the alternate member with the longest tenure shall serve first and the second longest tenured alternate shall serve next.  Both members have served equal time on the Planning and Zoning Commission. City Council must select one of the alternates or eligible applicants for the Place 1, vacancy.

DISCUSSION:

The Planning and Zoning Commission currently has two alternates that wish to be considered for Place 1 appointment.

Alternate No. 1 - Jarrod Williams

Alternate No. 2 - Bonnie Potraza

The City Secretary’s Office has provided a list of eligible applicants to consider for Place 1, vacancy and or Alternate replacement.

RECOMMENDATION:

City Administration recommends appointing an Alternate to serve as Place 1, and appoint an applicant to serve as an alternate.
