Discussion regarding 2020 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting dates.

BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this item is to discuss the proposed 2020 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting dates. The Commission normally meets the second and fourth Mondays of each month; however, there are instances in which the dates must be adjusted to account for City Council's meeting schedule, holidays, and Commissioners' schedules. Per the City's Code of Ordinances, the Commission shall have at least one regular meeting in each month.
The proposed calendar follows the Commission's normal schedule with the following exceptions:
* March - proposing the third and fifth Mondays (March 16 and 30, 2020) to adjust for CFBISD Spring Break;
* May - proposing one meeting on the second Monday (May 11, 2020) due to the Memorial Day holiday being the fourth Monday and Tuesday May 26, 2020 being unavailable (conflicts with Zoning Board of Adjustment);
* July - proposing one meeting on the third Monday (July 20, 2020) to accommodate for personal summer holiday travels;
* August - proposing the third and fifth Mondays (August 17 and 31, 2020) to adjust for Council's schedule (August 10-13, 2020), as well as software implementation scheduled "go live" dates (August 18-20, 2020);
* September - a joint meeting with City Council is scheduled for September 21, 2020 in addition to the Commission's two regular meetings; it is possible that one of the regular meetings could be consolidated with the joint meeting or cancelled depending upon pending case load at that time;
* November - proposing one meeting on the third Monday (November 16, 2010) due to holiday schedules; and
* December - proposing one meeting on the second Monday (December 14, 2020) due to holiday schedules.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Planning and Zoning Commission provide direction related to their 2020 meeting dates.
