Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3610 amending Chapter 22, Article VII of the Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances by adopting the 2018 edition of the International Plumbing Code with local amendments; and take appropriate action

BACKGROUND:
The City has been and is currently using the 2015 International Plumbing Code since January of 2016. Model construction codes such as the IPC are updated and re-published on a three-year cycle. Staff is recommending updating to the most current edition, the 2018 International Plumbing Code. Some notable changes to the 2018 IPC are no longer requiring the labeling of male or female to single user toilet facilities and an updated table for minimum number or required plumbing fixtures. Currently, most of our neighboring municipalities have adopted and are enforcing the 2018 IPC with the exception of the City of Coppell and the Town of Addison.
