BACKGROUND:
Rachael Arroyo began her career with the City of Farmers Branch in December of 2014 as the Aquatics Supervisor for the Farmers Branch Aquatics Center. She quickly took over as the Aquatics Center Manager, and in July of 2019 was promoted for the second time to Recreation Superintendent. Through her intense dedication, strong leadership, and thoughtful approach, the aquatics center has flourished, earning top consumer scores among all Farmers Branch recreation facilities, while helping the facility attain a steady increase in visitation, programming, and revenue generation each year since the facility opened.
Rachael's successes in the field have been aided by her formal education and 14-years of experience in the recreation field. Rachael graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Education from Tarleton State University. She also holds numerous certifications as an American Red Cross Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Certified Pool Operator, Aquatics Facility Operator, and Certified Parks and Recreation Professional. Rachael's achievements have been showcased in several national publications including Parks & Rec Business, World Waterpark, and Aquatics International. She was also one of just 16 professionals in the state of Texas selected to participate in the Texas Recreation and Parks Society Leadership Academy.
Rachael's impact on the Parks and Recreation Department over a short period of time cannot be understated and it will be exciting to see the heights we attain with her in place for the next five years. Her genuine care for those she works with and the community she serves, along with her commitment to excellence is unique and is to be admired.
