Consider approving Resolution No. 2020-50 authorizing the purchase of a generator for the Keenan Service Center in the total amount of $59,665 from Loftin Equipment Company through the HGAC Contract; providing an effective date and take appropriate action

BACKGROUND:
The Keenan Service Center Project (“Project”) is currently at 100% completion as of April 17, 2020 which the Project has come in on time and under budget. The Project electrical was designed and set up for a generator to power the entire building during power outages and emergency events which would require fleet and the warehouse operations to function. The generator was one of the items removed by the architect and staff in an effort to keep the project budget under the $7 million budget when bid. There is available funding in the project’s budget contingency to purchase the generator that was removed from the project.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Farmers Branch requested a quotation from the HGAC Contract. City Administration evaluated the quotation as to meeting specifications and desire to award the purchase of the generator to Loftin Equipment Company in the amount of $59,665.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted Financial Impact of $59,665 to account PW270001-CONST
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends to approve the purchase of a generator for the Keenan Service Center from Loftin Equipment Company through the HGAC Contract.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Resolution 2020-50 authorizing the City Manager to approve the purchase of a generator for the Keenan Service Center in the total amount of $59,665.
