BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this agenda item is to provide the task force with an update related to ongoing work that is being conducted by Kimley-Horn and Associates to prepare an approximate cost estimate for the relocation of overhead utilities underground. Information provided will include:
• The project limits (or locations) for which cost estimates are being prepared, based on direction received from the Mayor’s IH-35E Betterments Task Force on May 5, 2020 (Attachment 1); and
• Initial feedback received from TxDOT representatives on May 6, 2020, including TxDOT only intends to relocate existing utilities where there is a conflict associated with the highway widening project.
