Consider approving Resolution No. 2020-130 to approve the 2020-21 Operating Fund Budget of the North Dallas County Water Supply Corporation; and take appropriate action

BACKGROUND:

 

The North Dallas County Water Supply Corporation was created in 1991 through an interlocal agreement with the Town of Addison for the purpose of financing and constructing a sanitary sewer system tunnel to serve the east side of the City and the Town of Addison. The Corporate By-Laws require that the Corporation’s Board of Directors adopt an annual budget and that the City Councils of Farmers Branch and Addison approve the adopted budget.

 

DISCUSSION:

 

The Board, which consists of three staff members from the City of Farmers Branch and three staff members from the Town of Addison, conducted a public meeting to approve the budget on August 27, 2020. There was a quorum present voted to approve the budget.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

1. No Financial Impact - Expenditures Paid from Available Fund Balance

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

Recommended motion by City Administration to approve Resolution No. 2020-130 approving the 2020-21 Operating Fund Budget of the North Dallas County Water Supply Corporation.

 

POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:

 

1. I move to approve Resolution No. 2020-130 approving the 2020-21 operating budget of the North Dallas County Water Supply Corporation.

2. I move to approve Resolution No. 2020-130 approving the 2020-21 operating budget of the North Dallas County Water Supply Corporation, with modifications.

3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
