Presentation from NAFA Fleet Management Association for the 100 Best Fleets in the Americas Award to the City.

BACKGROUND:

The City of Farmers Branch Fleet and Facilities Management Department has been recognized as one of the 100 Best Fleet in the Americas for 2021 with the 99th ranking.

 

The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas program recognizes peak-performing fleet operations. In addition, this program identifies and encourages the ever-increasing levels of performance improvement and innovation within the public fleet industry.

 

 The purpose of this program is to help:

                     Foster pride in the industry.

                     Build recognition within the national fleet community.

                     Increase levels of productivity and operational effectiveness.

                     Encourage more individuals to consider fleet operations as a career choice.

 

There are over 38,000 public fleets in the nation. The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas contest is open to any public fleet in North or South America.

 

 Award applications are evaluated on answers provided in the program’s 12 Criteria of Excellence categories: Accountability, Use of Technology and Information, Collaboration, Creativity, Celebration, Evidence of a High Trust Culture, Performance Recognition, Doing It Right the First Time, Quick Efficient Turnaround, Competitive Pricing, Staff Development, and Resources Stewardship.

 

Tom Higgs, Fleet Operations Manager, leads the City of Famers Branch Fleet Management Division, with Casey Baker, Fleet Crew Leader, and the Fleet Technicians Jay Stanley, John Hunter, and Keith LaGrone.  The Fleet Management Division is responsible for providing fleet acquisitions, repairs, preventive maintenance, fueling, vehicle disposal, and other related equipment.
