Consider excusing the absence of board members from the August 11, 2021 meeting; and take appropriate action

BACKGROUND:
As a matter of practice, the Sustainability Committee has excused the absence of a Committee member when a member has a pre-noticed, excusable absence.
By excusing the absence, the Committee member is not penalized with using one of three unexcused absences allowed in the Charter.
The Sustainability Committee shall decide by vote at this meeting to excuse the absences of Mark Lyda, Loren Rives, Kamal Mahesh, and Matthew Kopchak from the August 11, 2021 meeting. All absent members notified the staff liaison of their absence prior to the meeting.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the absence of Mark Lyda, Loren Rives, Kamal Mahesh, and Matthew Kopchak from the August 11, 2021 meeting.
ACTIONS:
1. Motion to approve to excuse the absences of Committee members on August 11, 2021.
2. Motion to deny absences as an excused absence of Committee members.
3. Motion to modify to meet the needs of the Committee.
4. Motion to table the issue for further study or take no action.
