BACKGROUND:
At the recent City Council budget retreat, Director of Parks and Recreation, Michael Mashburn, delivered a presentation that showed what a newly renovated building could look like and why it should be considered. The presentation described a building with high-end contemporary finishes, a reimagined layout of the interior, and an active adult only park that would attach to the building.
The project is yet to be approved, but the initial response was very positive. If this project is approved, construction would ensue in fiscal year 2022-23, with funding come from government funds that were dispersed to the City of Farmers Branch through the American Rescue Plan (ARP).
