Title

Receive a report on the City-owned Camelot Landfill permit, long term operations, operations contract and financial.

Body

BACKGROUND:

The City of Farmers Branch owns Camelot Landfill, which has been in operation since 1981. In August 2017, the City received a permit amendment to expand the disposal capacity of the facility. The City is negotiating a 4th contract amendment with Camelot Landfill TX, LP, which will allow the company to reopen Lewisville Landfill in 2022 and sets a minimum lifespan for the facility. This presentation will provide an update to City Council on the status of landfill operations, long term issues regarding the facility, as well as a financial analysis of forecasted costs and revenues pertaining to site operations for the next 20 years.
