BACKGROUND:
In 2021 Violeta and Andy Rushiti opened the Starwood Café at 12990 Bee Street, Suite 140 in Farmers Branch.
DISCUSSION:
Soon after opening a new restaurant in 2021 as part of Mustang Station in Farmers Branch, Violeta and Andy Rushiti have become supporters of the community where they chose to locate their business. In support of the community, they would like to donate on behalf of Starwood Café to the Farmers Branch Fire Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The donation provides additional funds to the Fire Department to purchase equipment and supplies.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends the acceptance of the donation of $1,000 from Starwood Café to the Farmers Branch Fire Department.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve the acceptance of the $1,000 from Starwood Café for the Farmers Branch Fire Department.
2. I move to approve the acceptance of the $1,000 from Starwood Café for the Farmers Branch Fire Department with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
