Stitching with Paloma
Get in the spirit for Dia de los Muertos. Create a hand-stitched Sugar Skull while learning
basic embroidery techniques. Artists will take home their completed masterpiece in an embroidery hoop. BYOB limited to one bottle of wine or two beers per person. Ages 21 and up only, must bring ID.
Sun., Oct. 24 from 1 - 4 p.m.; ages 16 and up, BYOB for 21 + with ID; $35 includes supplies; space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Vintage Base Ball Practice
Want to try your hand at Vintage Base Ball? Join our open practices and learn the rules of 1860s base ball. Practices are held outdoors in our meadow; please wear closed-toed tennis shoes. Participants must sign waiver to play.
Tues., Oct. 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Day of the Dead Celebration
Join us for an intimate celebration of the Day of the Dead also known as Dia de los Muertos. Festivities include tapas elotes, dessert, a signature cocktail, aguas frescas, cinnamon hot chocolate, traditional d?cor, music, education about the holiday, and honoring the deceased. The festivities also include a stroll throughout the Farmers Branch Historical Park with altars at several of the historic structures as you "encounter" spirits from the past. Attendees are invited to bring a duplicate photo or memento to lay at the community altar to honor their loved ones.
Thurs., Oct. 28 from 6:30 - 9 p.m.; ages 4 and up; $30 per person; $20 for children 4 - 12; $25 per Friend of the Farmers Branch Historical Park member, call 972.406.0184 for discount; space is limited and pre-registration required.
