Stitching with Paloma
Get in the spirit for Dia de los Muertos. Create a hand-stitched Sugar Skull while learning
basic embroidery techniques. Artists will take home their completed masterpiece in an embroidery hoop. BYOB limited to one bottle of wine or two beers per person. Ages 21 and up only, must bring ID.
Sun., Oct. 24 from 1 - 4 p.m.; ages 16 and up, BYOB for 21 + with ID; $35 includes supplies; space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Vintage Base Ball Practice
Want to try your hand at Vintage Base Ball? Join our open practices and learn the rules of 1860s base ball. Practices are held outdoors in our meadow; please wear closed-toed tennis shoes. Participants must sign waiver to play.
Tues., Oct. 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Day of the Dead Celebration
Join us for an intimate celebration of the Day of the Dead also known as Dia de los Muertos. Festivities include tapas elotes, dessert, a signature cocktail, aguas frescas, cinnamon hot chocolate, traditional décor, music, education about the holiday, and honoring the deceased. The festivities also include a stroll throughout the Farmers Branch Historical Park with altars at several of the historic structures as you "encounter" spirits from the past. Attendees are invited to bring a duplicate photo or memento to lay at the community altar to honor their loved ones.

Charcuterie Board Class
Want to impress your friends and family this holiday season? The Historical Park’s Charcuterie Board Class has you covered. Learn the basic skills of creating a beautiful charcuterie board and get hands-on, step-by-step instruction and guidance. All the meats, cheeses, and various nuts, crackers, fruits, and sweets are included; the best part is you get to graze on the board you create. BYOB limited to one bottle of wine or two beers per person. BYOB for ages 21 and up only, must bring ID.

Art at the Park Workshop: Mixed Media Fall Portraits, 2nd Edition
Artists will create a collage on a background of their piece by incorporating nature found treasures and adding final details with tempera paint around their picture. This workshop is guaranteed to be a lot of fun as artists will also participate in various games. Please bring a sack lunch and water bottle. Artist drop off and pick up via carpool line in the Historical Park's parking lot.

Vintage Base Ball Game
HUZZAH! Fun for the whole family, see the Farmers Branch Mustangs play a game of vintage Base Ball at the Historical Park. Complete with vintage uniforms, balls, bats, and 1860s rules, this is a base ball experience like no other!

The Victorian Fencing Society presents a Grand Assault of Arms
A Public Exhibition of Nineteenth Century Fencing Matches, to be contested among the members of the Victorian Fencing Society with various fencing weapons to determine a champion. Visitors are invited to cheer for their champions, ask questions, and take photos of the events.

Fall Family Minis: Photoshoot
The Farmers Branch Historical Park is excited to announce it is partnering with Rosa Poetschke Photography for a special day of fall family photo mini sessions.
What’s included in the session: 20-minute mini session, private online gallery, 8 digital images, print release rights, and $20 credit to online print store at www.rosapoetschke.com <http://www.rosapoetschke.com>. If you have questions and want some inspiration or outfit planning, feel free to message Rosa Poetschke Photography once you have booked your mini.

Classic Car Show & Local Fuel Pop-Up Coffee Shop
Take a step back in time and enjoy a classic car show featuring originals and restored to near original automobiles and trucks. Make a pit stop at our 1936 Texaco Service Station to fuel up for the day and savor a cup of joe or hot chocolate for $2. Awards will be presented for Best of Class, Best of Show, and People’s Choice. Rain date will be Saturday, January 22.
Sat., Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with classic vehicle entry begins at 8 a.m.
Gate Fee: free to all spectators; entry Fee: $20 for classic vehicle registration; pre-registration is required.
Laura Ingalls Wilder Day: Celebrating Trailblazing Women!
Join us on a journey to the past through the eyes of different women throughout history! Participate in activities and crafts essential to life for Laura Ingalls Wilder. Learn about life of a doctor’s wife with Mrs. Julia Gilbert, inventory the General Store with Maggie May Taliaferro, learn about the fashion of the times with Laura Ingalls Gunn, and more. Bring a picnic and enjoy an afternoon at the park!
