BACKGROUND:
On June 19, 2018 Freese and Nichols presented to Council during Study Session, a project prioritization list for Farmers Branch Creek that was established during the creek study. From this list, there were projects identified requiring erosion repair work. Based on the need to make these repairs in order to stabilize the overall creek, City Council directed staff to move forward with the design and subsequent construction for the erosion repair projects based on a reach concept. Staff was to group projects within a given reach of the creek that affected multiple properties
DISCUSSION:
The City has negotiated a professional services agreement with Nathan D Maier Consulting Engineers, Inc. for the design of improvements identified as Reach 4 which is a portion of Project ID: Area 2 as presented by the Freese & Nichols CIP Prioritization Project List located upstream of Josey Lane Bridge and downstream from Veronica Road.

Budgeted Financial Impact ($181,600 from the Storm Water CIP Fund)
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approving Resolution No. 2022-005 authorizing an agreement with Nathan D Maier Consulting Engineers, Inc. for professional, design services of the FB Creek Erosion Control Reach 4 Project in the amount of $181,600.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Resolution No. 2022-005
2. I move to approve Resolution No. 2022-005 with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
