body

BACKGROUND:

The FY2021-22 Fixed Asset Fund for vehicles and equipment includes $272,000 for the purchase of four (4) replacement patrol vehicles for the Police Department. The patrol vehicles being replaced meet the recommended replacement criteria based on life cycle cost, age, utilization and supports Critical Business Outcome - Plan for, build, and maintain high quality public assets.

DISCUSSION:

The City of Farmers Branch requested a quotation from the Tarrant County Purchasing Contract. City Administration evaluated the quotation as to meeting specifications and desire to award the purchase of the vehicles to Reliable Chevrolet.

The FY2021-22 budget amount for the vehicles is $ 272,000.  The quotations for vehicles came in $162,492. For the remaining funds of $109,508 will be utilized to upfit the vehicles with new equipment due to the model year changes and the cost to install equipment.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Budgeted Financial Impact - $162,492 from account 1034532-648000
