BACKGROUND:

On April 1, 2022 at 11:30a.m., Farmers Branch Fire Department Engine 132 and Addison Fire Department Medic 102 were dispatched to an electrocution at 14184 Dallas Pkwy. A person had been working on the lighting in the ceiling when he was electrocuted. His co-worker knocked him loose from the power source prior to FBFD Engine 132’s arrival. FBFD E132 found the male patient in V-Fib and started CPR. FBFD Engine 132 defibrillated the patient prior to Addison Medic 102’s arrival. The patient regained a pulse and was transported by Addison Medic 102 crew with a FBFD paramedic accompanying them to Medical City Dallas. The patient was extubated with a positive prognosis and discharged home following his hospital stay.

Our automatic aid crews worked well together and successfully saved the life of this patient. This is a testament to our consolidated responses and would not be possible without the dispatchers from NTECC and medical direction from BEST EMS.

At tonight’s Council Meeting, Medical City Dallas will recognize Farmers Branch Fire Department Engine 132 - Captain Mike Campbell, Driver Ron Morrison, FF/Paramedic Matt Bramblett and Addison Fire Department Medic 102 - FF/Paramedic Jeff Gately and FF/Paramedic Tony Wragge.
