Consider approving Resolution No. 2023-069 canvassing and declaring the results of the May 6, 2023 General Election for Mayor and City Council District 2, conduct Oath of Office; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Farmers Branch held a General Election on May 6, 2023 to elect for the position of Mayor and one member to City Council District 2. The following actions will be taken to canvass and certify the results of the May 6, 2023 general election.
1. The Mayor reads the canvass statement in Resolution No. 2023-069
2. The City Council approves Resolution No. 2023-069
3. The City Secretary will perform the official Oath of Office, a ceremonial Oath of Office is conducted at the May 16, 2023 City Council meeting.

RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approval of Resolution No. 2023-069.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Resolution No. 2023-069 as presented.
2. I move to approve Resolution No. 2023-069, with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
