Consider approving Resolution No. 2024-045 authorizing an agreement for grounds maintenance services in the amount of $565,630 to SRH Landscape, LLC; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Parks and Recreation Department utilizes contracted grounds maintenance in their operations.
These services often provide specialized expertise, equipment, and manpower that might not be feasible to maintain in-house. This allows the department to focus on irrigation, landscaping, facilities, and gardening while ensuring the grounds remain well-maintained.
On February 19, 2024, the department received two bids for Bid No. 24-17. Staff recommends awarding a contract to SRH Landscape, LLC, with an initial term of one year starting from April 2, 2024, with an option to extend the term for up to three additional periods of one year each upon agreement of both parties. If renewed, the 2024 agreement with SRH Landscape, LLC would provide a contract period of April 2, 2024, through April 1, 2028.
DISCUSSION:
Parks and Recreation Department staff has determined that SRH's work during the initial contract period was acceptable and proposes that a new contract be awarded beginning April 2, 2024.
SRH Landscapes, LLC, is a full-service landscape, irrigation, and hardscape contractor that has been serving the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex since 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The budgeted impact is $667,614 for FY23-24. The amount of the ground maintenance contract with SHR Landscape, LLC. is $565,630.
The budgeted impact in FY22-23 was $375,000. The amount of the ground maintenance contract with SHR Landscape, LLC. was $248,915. Additionally, grounds maintenance was contracted with Metro Landscape Maintenance for $92,000. The current contract consolidates these services into one contract.
