BACKGROUND:
The fiscal year 2014-2015 Capital Improvement Program, Non-bond funds provides for $95,937 for the reconstruction of the street, sidewalks, and drive approaches along Nestle Drive from Valley View to the north approximately 300 feet. The revenues are from the Community Development Block Grant program, a federal program administered through Dallas County. On June 30, 2014 the City Council approved the submission of this project to Dallas County for approval and funding under the grant program.
DISCUSSION:
On March 10, 2015, five bids were received and opened for the Nestle Drive reconstruction project, with all bids meeting specifications. The low bid was received from Estrada Concrete Company, LLC in the amount of $102,661. The contract time is forty-five (45) calendar days. Estrada Concrete, LLC has submitted adequate qualifications and references, and has done similar work for the City.
Funds are available in the 2014-2015 Capital Improvement Program, Non-bond fund in the amount of $95,937 with the remaining amount ($6,724) being provided by the Public Works Streets 2014-2015 Operating Budget.
This item is consistent with City's Guiding Principles relative to providing functional, sustainable, and well-maintained infrastructure, facilities and equipment.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended motion by City Administration to approve Resolution No. 2015-033 awarding the bid for the reconstruction of Nestle Street from Valley View Lane to the north approximately 300 feet to Estrada Concrete Company, LLC in the amount of $102,661.
