Consider approving Resolution No. 2017-076 authorizing a unit price contract with Reynolds Asphalt and Construction Company for the Recycling and Resurfacing of Asphalt Streets Project through a Cooperative Purchasing Interlocal Agreement with the City of Grand Prairie; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department is requesting to enter into a unit price contract with Reynolds Asphalt and Construction Company using a Cooperative Purchasing Interlocal Agreement with the City of Grand Prairie. The unit price contract would encompass the recycling of full depth asphalt streets along with overlay of resurfaced streets. Reynolds Asphalt and Construction Company is under contract for providing this service to the City of Grand Prairie and they also have provided this service to the City in the past.
The streets placed on the Recycle list were initially approved and funded by the 2014-2015 Capital Improvement Project Street Improvement Bond Fund. Funding of $500,000 is planned for the remaining portion of FY 2016-17.
This item is consistent with the City's Core Value of providing functional, sustainable, and well maintained infrastructure, facilities and equipment.

The Resurfacing Project will include:
Alpha Road - from Midway Road to Inwood Road
City Administration will notify residents along these roadways and hold public meetings as necessary to outline the scope and schedule before each segment of this project begins.
RECOMMENDATION:
