BACKGROUND:
Dallas County has provided financial assistance to cities within the County of Dallas for maintenance of Type B roadways. Type B roadways consist of thoroughfares and bridges of major cross county importance. The City entered into a Master Road & Bridge Interlocal Maintenance Agreement with Dallas County in September 2017, which is effective for five (5) years. In order to participate with Dallas County, the City must have a Project Specific Agreement for each specific project requested.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Farmers Branch has submitted a request for roadway maintenance funding assistance for Valley View Lane between Webb Chapel Road and Marsh Lane, which requires the execution of a Project Specific Agreement with Dallas County. The City shall be responsible for the construction administration and any payments made for this project. The Public Works 2017-2018 Streets Operating Budget provides funds for street panel replacement and street maintenance projects throughout the City. Dallas County will provide a fifty percent (50%) match in an amount not to exceed $250,000.00 for this specific section of Valley View Lane.
The City and County desire to enter into a Project Specific Agreement at this time. The qualifying Road and Bridge Project funding is for Valley View Lane between Webb Chapel Road and Marsh Lane. The construction work will consist of panel replacement, curb and gutter, ADA ramps and street markings within the limits of this roadway.
